Rachael Higginson

Data Manager

“Student Health is, like any healthcare, a human right, but especially with students, health is so important for our future. Children are our future decision makers, and a healthy child is more likely to become a healthy adult.”

Rachael Higginson has been a member of The Consortium’s Data Team since 2018, serving as Data Manger for the past three years. She has over 7 years of experience with the School Health Services (SHS) Medicaid Program including process development, coordination, testing, improving internal systems, and informing methods to help school districts maximize their program and ensure compliance.

Rachael has a BA in English Literature with Ancient Greek intensive and a minor in Education from UC, Santa Cruz (Go, Banana Slugs!).

She is an explorer. If the question “why” pops up, she likes to figure out the answer, and is equally detail oriented, which supports her passion of ensuring program requirements are met so that school districts can continue to participate and receive funding that supports student health, and the success of Colorado’s SHS Program.

Outside of work, Rachael’s life revolves around her dog, who she loves more than anyone in this entire world. Besides spending as much time as possible with her, she would almost always rather be backpacking. When she is not backpacking or taking her dog to the park, she also finds joy in crafting/sewing, playing with flavors in the kitchen, reading/writing, and watching movies or shows that she finds interesting or entertaining.
