Karolyn Tregembo

Executive Director

Karolyn Tregembo serves as Executive Director/CEO of Colorado School Medicaid Consortium (The Consortium) where she leads on the guiding principle that all children deserve equitable access to healthcare and education.

Focused on supporting public school districts to successfully participate in the Medicaid School Health Services Program; she has been a leader in the organization’s program development and established partnerships with school districts, community organizations, and health providers to improve health services for students across Colorado. Karolyn has been with The Consortium since 2014, and before stepping into the position of Executive Director in 2023, served as  Program Director for 7 years, providing strategy and systems development while gaining expertise in Medicaid and school health.

Active within the school health community as a member of the Colorado Alliance for School Health, National Alliance for Medicaid in Education, and Healthy Students Promising Futures Colorado team, she advocates for policies that promote improved outcomes for all students.

Prior to joining The Consortium, she served as Program Coordinator for Denver Public Schools’ Office of Community Engagement, and spent 15 years in the technology and media sectors developing her background in leadership, training, and communication.

Karolyn combines her knowledge of human-centered programs, advocacy, and policy with her passion for social equity. Her experience with homelessness and underserved youth also inform her work in building community and collaboration toward a vision that all children have the resources to be successful now and in the future.
