Jason Ambrose

Program Director

“Student Health is a right, and a necessary first step to student learning.”

Jason Ambrose has been with the Consortium for over eight years, serving as a Project Coordinator and Program Manager before stepping into the position of Program Director in 2023. He continues to be a leader in the organization’s development of training programs, communication, and establishing partnerships with school districts.  Jason works to build a community that is both knowledgeable and engaged, focusing on long term projects that improve the health of students across Colorado.

Jason graduated from UC Berkeley in 2009, and got his start in education through Teach for America, serving as a Middle School teacher for some incredible kids in Oakland, California. He has over thirteen years of nonprofit experience in the education and health fields, including 2 years living in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

As a member of the School Health Services Stakeholder Forum, National Alliance for Medicaid in Education, and Covering Kids and Families, Jason is a leader in supporting school health and school-based Outreach & Enrollment Programs.

His superpower is that he can develop and deliver a training/class/lesson/lecture that you’ll enjoy regardless of the topic. Yes, even Medicaid.

Jason finds ultimate peace in the morning with a good book and a strong cup of coffee… which usually lasts two minutes before his kids find where he has been hiding. The rest of the day is up to them.
