Colorado School Medicaid Consortium (The Consortium) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. The Consortium aims for our applications and website to conform to level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 A and AA or higher. These guidelines help make web-based services and content accessible not only to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.
Testing and Remediation
We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our web-based applications and our website, and in doing so, adhere to available digital accessibility standards and guidelines:
- We have contracted with third-party auditors to conduct automated and manual accessibility testing of our sites and applications. In our commitment to transparency, we make testing scans available to our users upon request. We are actively working on known issues and will continue to test and remediate our digital products in an effort to provide continuous improvement and to make timely changes to inaccessibility issues, if any are found.
- We have developed systems and processes to ensure that the digital products we develop, manage, and procure in the future meet established technical standards by including accessibility assurances in contracts and requiring a completed Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT), also known as an Accessibility Compliance Report (ACR).

Colorado Accessibility Resources
- Access for the Hearing Impaired: Dial 711 or (800) 659-3656 to reach Relay Colorado. Relay Colorado is a free service that provides full telephone access to people who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind, or speech-disabled.
- Access for the Visually Impaired: Aira is free for up to 30 minutes per session. The State of Colorado is excited to offer a service for blind and low-vision Coloradans through a partnership with Aira, an app that provides live on-demand visual interpreting through human-to-human assistance. Coloradans get free access for up to 30 minutes per session while navigating state locations and digital services, reducing barriers to services, and creating a more welcoming Colorado for all. To learn more about Aira, including frequently asked questions about the service, visit the Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) Aira webpage.
